Abstract

This research aimed at describing the early childhood educational method according to Maria Montessori and Ki Hajar Dewantara by using library research method, and the technique of collecting data was documentation study.   Theprimary data sources were the book created by Ki Hajar Dewantara with the title Taman Indrya Kindergarden andthe book created by Simone Davies with the title The Montessori Toodlercontaining Maria Montessori's thoughts. The secondary data were taken from various sources considered relevant. Descriptive and inferential analysis techniques  were used in this research. Based on the analysis result, Maria Montessori method provides freedom for early childhood children to carry out activities according to their interests and talents, and it teaches discipline to children from an early age, while Ki Hajar Dewantara learning method emphasizes Among system method which has the meaning of maintaining student inner survival by accompanying anddirecting students,and it does not only allow student inner development, but it also keep student inner in a good condition.
