Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of work motivation and work environment on employee work discipline, the influence of work motivation and work environment on employee productivity, and the influence of work discipline on employee productivity. Furthermore, it investigates the indirect effect of work motivation and work environment on employee productivity through work discipline as an intervening variable at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional III Kebun Air Molek-I. This research is quantitative in nature, involving a sample of 60 respondents. Primary data was used and analyzed with the assistance of SmartPLS version 4.0 The results indicate a positive and significant direct effect of work motivation and work environment on employee work discipline. Additionally, work motivation and work environment have a positive and significant direct effect on employee productivity. Work discipline also shows a positive and significant direct effect on employee productivity. Moreover, there is a positive and significant indirect effect of work motivation and work environment on employee productivity mediated by work discipline as the intervening variable. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.722 or 72.2% suggests that variations in employee productivity can be explained by work motivation, work environment, and work discipline, while the remaining 27.8% is influenced by other variables outside the scope of this study.
