Abstract

Student well-being will affect the socialization of students at school. The transition from childhood to adolescence and changes in the academic situation faced in junior high schoolmake some teenagers feel more negative affect and dissatisfaction with life, indicating students' low psychological well-being. One of the factors that affect student well-being is social support. Social support from the closest people makes individuals feel loved, valued, and needed. This study aims to see whether there is a positive relationship between social support and student well-being.This study uses quantitative research methods. The samples in this study are 202 students from Mts boarding school based in Pelalawan, Riau, selected using cluster random sampling. The instrument used is a social support scale with a reliability coefficient of 0.852 and a student well-being scale with a reliability coefficient of 0.862. Based on Pearson's product-moment correlation analysis, obtained r = 0.479 and a significance of 0.000 (p≤0.01). Its mean, there is a positive relationship between social support and student well-being in MTs students at Pondok Pesantren.
